INTERNATIONAL QUALIFICATION AWARDS IN PETROLEUM ENGINEERING
Aim of programme
This programme aims to bridge the gap between available untrained but educated workforce and need of trained and qualified professionals for Oil & Gas industry in Ghana through comprehensive theoretical and practical training.
You can start Petroleum Engineering Course and progress with your own time and pace considering your personal and professional circumstances. We offer courses from Level 2 to Level 5 with the partnership of Teesside University, UK. You can pick the suitable Level that fits you, according to your academic qualification and professional experience. The programme leader at BCTC will help you to identify the suitable Level and also to choose the appropriate modules considering Oil and Gas industry’s demand, your professional experience and interest.
Level 2 & 3 modules are for Operators, Supervisors and Technicians level qualifications. Level 4 & 5 modules are for Higher National Certificate (HNC) and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Petroleum Engineering.
Our courses are widely acceptable in whole Europe Union (EU) and well regarded in industries across the globe.
Entry requirements and applying
Higher National Certificates and Diplomas
Applicants to Higher Nationals should normally have 3 passes at GCSE (grade C or above, including mathematics) or equivalent. Plus one of the following:
- at least one A-level in an appropriate subject
- equivalent level 3 qualification in an appropriate subject.
However other qualifications and experience will be taken into consideration when processing your application.
For our courses, there is open access entry subject to a reasonable expectation of success. Admission to a course is at the discretion of the support centre. These requirements cover:
- Certificate in Process Technology
- Level 3 Supplementary Studies.
Higher National Certificates
Normal entry requirements are Ordinary National Certificate (ONC) in an appropriate engineering discipline or equivalent. However, other qualifications and experience are taken into consideration. A Mathematics ‘bridging’ module is available which prepares you for HNC entry. There is also a Process Chemistry ‘bridging’ module for the HNC Chemical Engineering.
